Calvary Chapel Finger Lakes Veterans Ministry
The church has many leaders and members who are veterans with a heart for their fellow veterans and their families. Located between the City of Rochester with numerous veteran support agencies (assisting with housing, education, legal, medical, psychological, and employment) and the City of Canandaigua with a large VA Hospital, the church (as well as the local Body of Christ) is ideally situated to minister to the spiritual needs of not only its own members who are veterans but also a much larger group of veterans.
If you are a veteran who would like to receive additional information or would like join in this mission and ministry, please contact Calvary Chapel Finger Lakes so you can be contacted by the Veterans Group and/or added to the monthly newsletter. The monthly newsletter has contact information, prayer requests, words of encouragement, etc.
2 Timothy 2:1-4 (NKJV) says: “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.” Veterans served their country, leaving the comforts of home and putting themselves often in harm’s way. Our mission is to support them now as “soldiers of Jesus Christ,” who is both the King of Kings (Revelation 17:14) and Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
