Part 4 – Holiness
We believe the notion of a church fast was inspired by God’s Spirit as we perceived that holiness has been waning in the church. Ponder the plain meaning of the scriptures:
(1 Peter 1:16)…Be ye holy; for I am holy.
(1 Corinthians 15:34) Awake to righteousness, and sin not;
(Romans 12:1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
God is holy and His people must be like Him if they are ever to dwell with Him. To restore holiness to lost souls was the very reason Christ came. There are no degrees of holiness. A person or an action or a thought is simply holy or not. Nothing is ever half-holy. We are to be holy, not part holy, but all holy. That is God’s standard and His desire. In the end, He will have His way and all heaven and earth will be holy as He desires. Admittedly, this is a great struggle at times, but we must not give up in the battle. We dare not change God’s standard.
